The Global Poverty Project

In 2000, Eight Millennium Development Goals were developed and adopted by World Leaders with the objective of improving the lives of the world’s poorest people by 2015. While some progress has been made, 1.4 billion people, roughly one-fifth of the world’s inhabitants, continue to live in extreme poverty.

The Global Poverty Project is the vision of Hugh Evans and Simon Moss, both of whom were intimately involved in the Australian MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY campaign. These two campaigners are committed to ending extreme poverty, and believe that citizens from around the world can make this vision a reality.

We are the first generation that can eradicate extreme poverty. Stop talking about the problem. Be part of the solution. Attend a Global Poverty Project Presentation this August and find out how you can make a real and extraordinary difference.

Hugh Evans, Simon Moss, Wei Soo and much of the Global Poverty Project team (Richard, Jenny, Kit, etc) are not only amazing global activists, they are also ALL former Oaktree volunteers! From little things big things grow….
